Winter Journey through Iceland

This wonderful tour will lead you through Iceland’s highlights in winter. Starting off in Reykjavik, you will visit all the attractions the famous Golden Circle has to offer. Your tour ends with a visit to the spectacular South Coast, before ending with a relaxing bath in the Blue Lagoon.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Iceland Arrival at Keflavik Airport (own arrangement) and set foot in this fascinating country of fire and ice. Upon arrival, a transfer bus will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. If time allows you are free to explore the capital of Iceland.
  • Day 2: Golden Circle Today you will drive along the “Golden Circle”, which connects some of the most important attractions of Iceland. The national park “Thingvellir” is the first highlight of the Golden Circle. Here the first parliament was once held, and you can walk through the rift caused by the continental drift of the European and the American continental plates. Next is the area of the world-famous Geysir. With regular intervals you can observe how Strokkur shoots up to 20m into the air. Last highlight on this route is the waterfall Gullfoss that takes on a golden shine when the sun is low – thus the name “golden waterfall”. In the evening you will hunt with a guide for the northern lights. The natural phenomena in the northern hemisphere which dances in different colours on the clear sky of wintry nights will no doubt astonish you. Since their appearance is a “whim of nature”, we cannot guarantee sightings. However, your guide will lead you to the places with the highest chances.
  • Day 3: South Coast During this trip you will experience glaciers, waterfalls, black lava beaches and bird rocks along the Icelandic south coast. This tour is suited for nature enthusiasts of all kinds! You will have the opportunity to stand right behind the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and to climb up the Skoga waterfall to enjoy the spectacular view from there. The excursion takes you to the beautiful village Vik I Myrdal, which is framed by the bird cliffs, located directly by the coast.
  • Day 4: Blue Lagoon In the morning a bus will bring you to the Blue Lagoon, probably the most famous attraction in Iceland. Taking a bath in geothermal water promises healing effects and is due to its unique atmosphere a special experience.
  • Day 5: Departure A transfer will take you to the international airport Keflavik for your journey back home.
