Winter in Finnish Lapland
There are few other destinations we would rather be in winter than in Finnish Lapland! It’s crispy, clean winter air and the white, snowy landscapes are just magical!
Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Lapland Arrive by own arrangements in Oulu, Rovaniemi or Kuusamo. Upon arrival, our transfer is awaiting to take you to the hotel.
- Day 2: Snowmobile Safari After breakfast there will be some free time until the snowmobile safari starts. The safari starts from the hotel, where the snowmobiles are lined up. The route first descends and then continues along the fells, through the forest with snow-covered trees and ice-covered swamps or lakes. There will be a stop for a coffee break around a campfire.
- Day 3: Northern Lights Safari The day is free at your disposal until the evening safari – we are happy to assist you with additional excursions such as a husky tour or ice fishing! In the evening a bus will take you on a Northern lights hunt. An experienced guide will take you to the places with the best chance of watching the Aurora Borealis. A stopover with coffee and pastries to warm-up during the tour is included.
- Day 4: Reindeer Sledding On this safari, visitors will ride in a reindeer sleigh and form together a caravan connected with a rope in a traditional, Sami way. Coffee and snacks are served in a “kota”, a round hut.
- Day 5: Rauna Zoo and Santa Claus Village On today’s excursion you will visit the Rauna zoo where you will be able to see the local Fauna of Lapland including; the brown bear, wolves, moose and more. You will also visit Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, located on the Arctic Circle. In Santa Claus village, meet the „real“ Santa in his office. There will be time to browse for souvenirs in the many Design- and Handicraftshops.
- Day 6: Departure After breakfast, a transfer will take you to the airport, from where you will start your homeward journey.
