Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavík Collect your rental car (not included) at Keflavik airport and make your way to the Icelandic capital Reykjavik. Start your tour with a sub-zero experience that you´ll never forget and visit Magic Ice bar with its ice sculptures and enjoy a drink served in an ice glass while a winter poncho and gloves to keep you warm. Accommodation in a centrally located hotel in Reykjavík city center.
  • Day 2: Reykjavík – Vik Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy your morning in Reykjavik before you head towards Iceland’s stunning south coast and the village of Vik. We recommend a detour along the way to explore the natural highlights of the Golden circle – Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss and Geysir. To follow the icy theme, you can even go on a snowmobile ride close to Gullfoss waterfall. (Not included). Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Vik (2 nights).
  • Day 3: Vik Let’s get icy today! Or more precisely get into the ice during a visit to an ice cave of 800-year-old Katla glacier with black, white, and blue ice. The tour starts in Vik and is operated by a super jeep which will take you up the mountains to the glacier. You will do a short glacier hike to the cave. After you have marveled on the crazy shapes in the ice cave, a short glacier hike will take you on a hunt for secret waterfalls and hidden glacier canyons. The super jeep will take you back to Vik and on the way, you will visit a stunning black sand beach.
  • Day 4: Vik – Öraefi Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards it is time to explore new landscapes along the south coast and to the village of Öraefi, where you will spend the coming nights. The village is situated between two of Iceland’s most spectacular natural attractions, Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Öraefi (3 nights).
  • Day 5: Glacier Lagoon Breakfast at the hotel. Get ready for another day in the ice by paddling amongst the Icebergs. You will Kayak in the Jökulsárlón Glacier lagoon which is considered as one of the natural wonders of Iceland. Paddling on the Glacier lagoon provides outstanding experiences and gives you a magnificent view of the ice cap and the vast dome of ice that rises above.
  • Day 6: Glacier Hike Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Today it is time for a new glacier hike that takes you to Falljökull, one of the most impressive outlet glaciers of the Vatnajökull ice cap. You will be exploring impressive terrain, walking through a wonderland of ice formations and brilliant blue colors. Depending on the glacier conditions, you can enter the rugged and chaotic icefall, which tumbles over the side of the underlying mountain and down towards the ocean. This is the perfect way to say goodbye the Iceland.
