Snowmobile Tryout

This tour is perfect for those who have never tried snowmobiling before. First you will get familiar with the snowmobile, have full safety instructions and a driving lesson. After everyone feels comfortable, we will head out for a small journey into the nearby surroundings.

Snowmobiling on the Fells

Snowmobiling in Muotka is unforgettable. There is plenty of white snow, lots of tracks and beautiful scenery all around. On this snowmobiling tour we will be spending most of our time on snowmobiles exploring the forests and fellside. During the day we will also have lunch by open fire and warm drinks to keep us warm. Could there be a better way to spend a winter day?

Aurora Snowmobiling

On this snowmobiling tour you will head to the Nellim surroundings in search of Northern Lights. You will be heading for the open spots, where the chances of seeing the possible Aurora are the highest. Driving distance depends on the weather conditions; if the sky looks promising, we will stop and admire this beautiful show.

Husky Safari

An absolute ‘must do’ when visiting Muotka! You will be taught how to handle the sled before you head out for the husky safari, where the huskies will pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery. The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you will realise that this is the only way to see Lapland. All our husky safaris include full instruction and are based on two people sharing a sled unless otherwise stated. All husky safaris run so that one guest is mushing and the other one is sitting in the sleigh. Positions will be changed halfway.

Snowshoes & Outdoor Lunch

On this trek, we will head to the forests and hills surrounding Muotka. The forest is a beautiful winter wonderland, and the silence is like no other. During the trek the guide will share interesting stories and information about Finnish nature and animals. There will be a lunch by the open fire during this calm walking day. This trip is perfect for photographers and nature lovers, as snowshoeing is a true eco-activity! During the trip an outdoor lunch will be served.

Ice Fishing on Snowmobile Sleigh

Hop on a snowmobile sleigh and head out for a day of ice fishing on one of the numerous wilderness lakes around Muotka. We will try to find the best spots for fishing, camp there and test our luck. During the day, we will enjoy warm drinks and have lunch by the open fire – if we’re lucky, it will be fresh fish we caught ourselves! If you wish to spend the day like locals, this is the way to do it!

Aurora Hunt by Car

How about Aurora car trip heading to find the Northern Lights? On this tour, you will spend the evening searching for the Northern Lights, traveling by car, and having some warm drinks to keep you warm. Depending on weather conditions, there might be some changes on which route we select to take you to the best spots to see the Northern Lights.

Reindeer Day with Snowmobile

Day will start with snowmobile driving introductions. Once we are ready we head to the wilderness with our snowmobiles! We will visit a reindeer farm, where you will meet the reindeer herders and learn about the importance of reindeer in Lapland. You will learn how to lasso a reindeer and have a short ride in a sleigh pulled by reindeer. During the day a soup lunch will be served. t

Note: Children under 15 years are sitting in a sledge. The driver of the snowmobile must be at least 18 years of age with a driver’s license valid in Finland.

Reindeer Farm Visit

Reindeers and reindeer herding is a big part of the history in Northern Finland. Meet the reindeers is a guided tour that will give you an insight on way of life of the reindeer herding. The guide will tell you more about the Sámi culture and the life of a reindeer.

Cross-Country Skiing

In the old times, cross country skiing used to be the most common method of transportation, and all Finns have this skill in their blood. There is no more silent method to go through frozen and snowy sceneries than cross country skis. Guide will teach you how to use the skis, and once everyone’s got the hang of it, we will have a nice loop in the surrounding nature.

Aurora Snowshoeing

Experience the surrounding nature and Northern lights on foot! You will wander in the amazing taiga forests surrounding Muotka until finally reaching the camp spot. At the camp we enjoy some warm drinks and gaze at the sky in the hopes of a possible Northern Lights show.
