Hidden gems is about showing our own favorite spots, which are off the beaten track from the standard path. Expect to get an introduction to areas we think are cool, local, and where you get a great a sense of what the life in Copenhagen is all about. We will either take a southern route or Northern route depending on what is going on in the harbor at your specific departure day. There will be a voluntarily option during the route to stop and get out of the boat to explore. We will point out our favorite places and hidden gems, whether you are looking a place for having an afternoon beer in the sun, a relaxed morning coffee, or simply and area to relax away from it all. As we explore the upcoming areas away from the inner part of the city you will see how former industrial buildings are being transformed into new spaces, where new and old are mixed in new architectural structures. Some of these are designed by famous architects like Bjarke Ingels and some by new upcoming talents. You will get an understanding of how design and living play and essential role for the new development of Copenhagen and an essential part of the Danish lifestyle.

Copenhagen Panorama Sightseeing

Canal Tours – Grand Tour of Copenhagen

A guided tour around the harbor and through the idyllic canals where our guide will tell you about Copenhagen’s beautiful churches, castles, old listed houses, new buildings and all other sights of interest. The classic tour departs from Nyhavn or Gammel Strand and passes some of Copenhagens best sights and attractions. The tour is with a live guide in Danish and English – some departures have a third language which varies between German, Italian, French or Spanish. We walk through the oldest parts of Copenhagen, the new Market Halls and we visit some of the most trendy eating places in town while listening to stories about the history and daily life of the city. The walking distance is 4 km at a very leisurely pace and we sit down twice for min 20 min There are 3 toilet stops.

Food Tour: Gourmet Evening Stroll

The long clear nights of Scandinavia are justly famous. After a long day of sightseeing it is nice to enjoy Copenhagen while the long twilight closes in and the people of the city come out to play. The longest walking distance is about 700 m. Customers who are not good walkers can join this tour. We sit down twice for min 30 min. There are 3 toilet stops. For groups larger than 2, we arrange small tasting challenges and a prize for the winner.

Royal Castle Tour

Take a sightseeing tour to 3 spectacular castles north of Copenhagen. We leave Copenhagen and travel up the Riviera road to Helsingør. As we travel along we have a beautiful view of the Øresund Strait with the Swedish coast beyond. Kronborg Castle, known as Elsinore in English, is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s one of northern EURope’s best-preserved Renaissance castles and the most renowned Danish castle, made famous worldwide by William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. It Frederiksborg Castle is where you will risk losing your breath by the castles splendor. It is as fantastic on the inside as on the outside with its stunning and beautiful interior and remarkable gardens. There will also be a photo stop at Royal family’s summer residence Fredensborg Palace. The English-speaking host will be on board with you the entire tour and guide you through the castle. During the tour you can buy lunch and beverages. Please be aware there is a lot of walking on uneven surfaces and stairs during the tour. Remember practical shoes.

Daytrip to Malmö

Since the building of the spectacular ‘Øresund’ Bridge, connecting Denmark to Sweden, the city of Malmö has become one of the most popular destinations to the inhabitants and visitors of the Copenhagen area. The driver will give you stories of the relation between Denmark and Sweden. City life in Malmö is concentrated primarily around the two squares, Stora Torget and Lilla Torget, where there are lots of good shops and places to eat. You will find a wealth of cultural attractions, including the museum of contemporary and modern art. Upon arrival in Malmö, you have the choice to explore the city on your own or join a 1 hour sightseeing tour in the minivan. Included in the tour is a beautiful boat tour with Rundan. For an hour, you will enjoy a pleasant tour through canals and under bridges, whilst the guide’s narrative will give you a good insight into Swedish history, well-known characters, buildings and anecdotes. Remember to bring your passport as we will cross the Swedish border.

In the Footsteps of the Vikings

Discover the Danish history when we visit the Viking Ship Museum, the Roskilde Cathedral and Lejre Museum. At the Viking Ship Museum you will see original Viking ships, which was used to travel to faraway places for war and trade. At the UNESCO listed Roskilde Cathedral you will hear stories about the Viking kings Harald Bluetooth and Sweyn Forkbeard. We also visit Lejre Museum, located in the national park Skjoldungernes Land, where you will taste the Viking drink mead. The tour also explores one of the best kept burial chambers from around 3000 BC, Øm Passage Grave. It is possible to buy lunch, water and coffee during the tour.
