Experience a typical Norwegian winter in the enchanting area of Alta. The city is known as the city of the Aurora and is Northern Norway’s largest town, located in the inner reaches of the Altafjord. The city is surrounded by arctic tundra, mountain plateaus and coastal landscapes which create a magical winter paradise.
Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Alta You will be picked up at Alta airport and transferred to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure in Alta. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Alta.
- Day 2: Dog Sledding & Northern Lights After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, a transfer will pick you up at the hotel and take you to a husky farm where you will spend the day on a dog sled excursion. In the evening your next adventure will be a Northern Lights chase. A mini bus will take you to an area without light pollution, optimizing your chances to see the beautiful Aurora Borealis. Day 3: Snow Shoeing & Icefishing
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will put on snowshoes and hike to a frozen lake, where you will try and catch your own Arctic Char for lunch. The trek to the wilderness camp will take you through beautiful and peaceful pine forests surrounded by high mountains. At the lake, the group will open fire inside a lavvu and start waiting for the fish to bite. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Alta.

Day 4: Snowmobiling
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and prepare for another adventure day. Get ready for an adrenaline rush – today you will head on a snowmobile excursion up on the mountain plateau of Finnmarksvidda. Here you will discover the different beauty in the Arctic nature and experience the systematic changes of lights. Accommodation in a hotel in Alta city center.
- Day 5: Departure After breakfast at the hotel this exciting holiday comes to an end. You will be transported from the hotel back to the airport according to your flight schedule
