Ilulissat short break
During this tour you will be visiting several huge icebergs, which is one of the unique UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ilulissat, Greenland. You will participate in several breathtaking activities, what those activities are depends on the season. Whilst in Ilulissat, you will also visit the northern hemisphere, where you will find the spectacular Ilulissat Icefjord, this natural phenomenon produces up to 40 million tons of ice every day! The rugged beauty of the many thousands of icebergs that sail out into Disko Bay welcomes you to the wonderful world of the Arctic.

Day 1: Arrival in Greenland
Choose to fly from Copenhagen or Reykjavik to Ilulissat. You are picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel in Ilulissat. Upon arrival, you will have an informative meeting about the town, the area, dining, and excursion possibilities. The program is seasonal dependent, during summer season your afternoon will be spent hiking to an abandoned settlement (June to August). Whereas, during the rest of the year, you will spend your afternoon doing a guided tour through Ilulissat, where you will learn even more about the beautiful history of the town. In the evening, you will have a lovely welcome dinner in the hotel’s amazing restaurant (drinks not included).
NOTE: Note that if you fly from Copenhagen, you will have to change planes in Kangerlussuaq.
- Day 2: Ilulissat After eating a delicious breakfast at the hotel, another exciting adventure awaits. This day will be spent at leisure during the summer season (June to August), with the possibility of adding a whale watching excursion (not included). In the evening, you will discover the Icebergs under the midnight sun! If you are more of a fan of the autumn (August – December) season, you will be hiking to the abandoned settlement of Sermermiut and spend the rest of the day at leisure. If you are more into the polar experience, you will be experiencing the winter of Greenland (January to April). During your second day, you will be going on a boat tour to explore the icebergs, whereas in the evening you will explore the polar night by snowcat.
- Day 3: Ilulissat More delicious breakfast, more exciting adventures in Greenland! In summertime, you will sail the waters of Baffin Bay, during a unique full-day boat trip to the calving Egi Glacier. In autumn season, you will explore the Icebergs by boat, before spending your evening in relaxation, or hunting the Northern Lights during a tour (Not included). During the winter months, you will experience one of the most famous Greenlandic icons, which is also a thousand-year-old tradition for the Inuit. – Riding the dog sled!
- Day 4: Ilulissat Your final day full day in Ilulissat starts well, with breakfast at the hotel. This is a day which will be rather similar, even in the different seasons. During this day you will take time to experience the atmosphere and life in the town, so you can leave behind the town of Ilulissat with a lot more knowledge about Greenland in general! (During summer season, a farewell dinner is included).
- Day 5: Departure After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Greenland. Having spent some memorable days and making some unforgettable memories in this Arctic paradise, it is time for you to fly back to Copenhagen or Keflavík International Airport. But no worries, the Greenlandic lands are more than happy to have you return in another season, or in the same season next year!
