See the highlights of Iceland’s capital! You will have lots of time to discover the destination by yourself, and enjoy a variety of guided tours through the countryside. One of the tours highlights includes the Golden Circle tour, where you will see some of the very best that Iceland has to offer. You will have the chance to go on optional excursions, seeing even more of Iceland on this trip.
Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Iceland Arrival at Keflavik Airport (own arrangement), from where a transfer bus will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. If time allows you are free to explore the capital of Iceland.
- Day 2: Reykjavík Today you will explore Reykjavík and see all its highlights. In the afternoon you’re free to wander through the city by yourself.
- Day 3: Golden Circle Today you will drive along the “Golden Circle”, which connects some of the most important attractions of Iceland which include Thingvellir, the Geysir Strokkur and Gullfoss.
- Day 4: Reykjavik & Whale Watching (optional) We also recommend a whale watching tour starting from Reykjavik’s old port (optional). Take a boat out into the Faxafloi bay and start looking for the giants!
- Day 5: Glacier Valley & Thorsmörk (optional) Today you will have the possibility to take part of a beautiful nature excursion to the glacier valley Thorsmörk, embedded between the glaciers Eyjafjalla-, Tindafjalla- and Myrdalsjökull.
- Day 6: Borgafjördur (optional) Along the picturesque located Hvalfjord, the whale fjord, you will be taken to the biggest hot water spring of the world, Deildatunguhver. Visit the Hraunfossar waterfalls and the town of Reykholt.
- Day 7: South Shore (optional) Travel through the farm landscape of south Iceland and to the black sand beaches, past the thundering waterfalls, powerful volcanos and magnificent glaciers. Take a walk along the black beach of the Reynisfjara.
- Day 8: Blue Lagoon & Departure Past the desolate lava landscape of Reykjanes, dotted with many volcanic craters, the circle of your journey closes again at Keflavik airport. Before you depart, enjoy a healing dip into the Blue Lagoon!
