There is no better place to start this tour than at Santas home in Santas Village, Rovaniemi. The magic of Christmas is everywhere. At Santas Village you can cross the arctic circle, meet Santa Claus, and find your inner child at Snowman world. We offer a true winter experience with accommodation in snow suites, and igloos. Experience, ice fishing, snowmobiling, a reindeer excursion and meeting the beautiful huskies. All your must do arctic experiences will be ticked off on this magical Christmas tour. At Skyfire you will experience the true Lappish way, accommodation is in igloos with own WC, please note there are no showers in the igloos’ instead you will have a daily sauna slot, where you can enjoy a sauna and shower the typical Finnish way.
Itinerary
- Day 1 Santa Village is the perfect starting point for this tour. After spending time exploring the village and crossing the arctic circle, make your way to snowman world where entrance has been included. Snowman world is best described as a snowy playground. In the late afternoon a shuttle transfer will take you to the Arctic SnowHotel and glass igloos. A special Christmas dinner is served in the log restaurant. Overnight in the snow hotel, one of the biggest snow hotels in the world. Overnight in a snow suite.
- Day 2 After your night in the snow suite, you can enjoy a Finnish Sauna (possible pre or post breakfast). On today’s agenda is an Ice fishing excursion and, in the afternoon, an exhilarating electric snowmobile safari. The ice fishing is done on the nearby lake and lasts approximately one-hour. A light lunch is included. This afternoon, your arctic adventure continues. The starting point for the electric snowmobiles is within walking distance. Snow scooters are a great way to explore the Finnish nature and your surroundings. After this exhilarating excursion, you will be transferred to Skyfire village, a retreat in the wilderness. Thermal clothing will be provided for the full duration of your stay at Skyfire Village. At Skyfire you will enjoy true Lappish life with a touch of luxury. Dinner is served in the kota restaurant. Overnight in an igloo.
- Day 3 Breakfast is served on site in the kota restaurant. Enjoy your morning at leisure, lapping up the silence and your beautiful surroundings in this special retreat. In the afternoon, your true Finnish experience continues as you head to an authentic reindeer farm. A reindeer sleigh drive is included, and you will have time to talk to the family about their way of life with reindeer. In the late afternoon return to Skyfire, dinner and overnight,
- Day 4 Breakfast is served at the hotel. Enjoy your morning at leisure. In the afternoon transfer from the Skyfire village to a local husky farm, where eager huskies await. The three-hour program will allow time to spend with the huskies, and to enjoy a self-drive husky tour (distance approximately 15km). After this thrilling experience transfer back to Skyfire resort. Dinner is served in the kota and overnight.
- Day 5 Departure day, after breakfast, a transfer is included to take you to Rovaniemi Airport or the train station according to your onward arrangements. .
