Day 1: Oslo

Arrival in Oslo, the capital of Norway.
Oslo offers many well-known sights such as Vigeland Sculpture park, the Viking ship museum and Holmenkollen ski jump.

Day 2: Oslo – Vinstra (230 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Oslo in a northern direction – you will drive alongside the largest lake in Norway, namely – Mjøsa. You will drive on the E6, passing the charming cities of Hamar and Lillehammer. A stop at the Maihaugen Eco museum in Lillehammer is recommended. Continue north until you reach Ringebu. In Ringebu we recommend a visit to the Stave church – a church dating back to the middle ages.

Day 3: Vinstra – Røros (200 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your route continues along the Gudbrandsgard valley, you will pass the Rondane national park. Continue travelling north until you reach Røros. Røros is a small and charming village and has been listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Day 4: Røros – Trondheim (160 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Our recommended driving itinerary is to follow the Gauldalen valley in the direction of Storen and Trondheim.  Trondheim is Norway’s third largest city and was the first capital of Norway. Trondheim continues to be the coronation city of Norway.  We recommend a visit to the Nidaros cathedral built over the grave of St. Olav. Next to the cathedral you will find the Archbishop’s palace, the oldest secular building in Scandinavia.

Day 5: Trondheim – Kristiansund (195 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your journey continues along the scenic road, passing mountain ranges and the ocean. Drive along the valley on Sumadal until you see the Halsafjord. Cross the ferry from Halsa to Kanestraum. From Kanestraum continue along the road to Kristiansund. Kristiansund is a costal city, surrounded by beautiful parks.

Day 6: Kristiansund – Ålesund (135 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart Kristiansund along the Ocean road crossing the Kristiansund – Bremsnes ferry you will arrive in Norway’s rose city, Molde. Cross the Romsdalsfjord between Molde and Vestens. Enjoy the scenery and end your day in Ålesund.

Day 7: Ålesund

Breakfast at the hotel. Ålesund is built on three islands and is a really charming city. The city centre is built in art nouveau style and you will discover an abundance of imaginative ornamentation on the fronts of the buildings. With the channels and small stone houses, this is definitely a city worth exploring. Ålesund’s surroundings are just as beautiful as the city itself. Walk up the 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla and you will be rewarded by unforgettable panoramic views!

Day 8: Ålesund – Loen (130 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your journey takes you passed the Norddalfjord between Linge and Eidsdal. Continue driving south until you reach the village of Geiranger. Enjoy the cruise on the Geirangerfjord between Geiranger and Hellesylt. The Geirangerfjord is known as the pearl of the fjords.  Continue south until you reach Loen.

Day 9: Loen – Sogndal (130 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. En-route from Loen to Hafslo, you will pass two glaciers: in Olden you will pass the the Briksdal glacier and then in Skei you will pass the Jostealen glacier. Continue along the scenic road until you reach Sogndal.

Day 10: Sogndal – Voss (110 km)

Breakfast at the hotel.  Today your itinerary continues south. The ferry crossing from Kaupanger to Gudvangen (approximately 2 hours) allows you the opportunity to travel over the world’s longest and deepest fjord. Continue the road along the canyon of Stalheim until you reach Voss.

Day 11: Voss – Bergen (90 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today your journey continues south, enjoy the lakes, the waterfalls and the forests along the way. The route to Bergen is picturesque, take your time and arrive in Bergen at leisure.

Day 12: Bergen

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy your day at leisure with free time to explore the city. Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, surrounded by seven mountains and fjords. Enjoy the many sights of interest to include, the fishing and flower market as well as the Fløibanen funicular.

Day 13: Bergen – Geilo (260 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. From Bergen drive along the ‘garden of Norway’, the Hardangerfjord until you reach Ulvik. Ulvik is a small village cherished by artists. Ulvik is home to an annual arts exhibition. Cross the Eidfjord via the Hardangerbridge and continue your journey east. We recommend a stop at the Voringfoss waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Norway. Continue your route across the Hardangervidda plateau which is eternally covered in snow.

Day 14: Geilo –Oslo (220 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. From Geilo you travel to Oslo – the road passes through the valley of Hallingdal along Lake Krodern following the direction of Hønefoss.

Day 15: Oslo

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is at leisure to enjoy Norway’s capital city. Oslo is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo fjord
