Travelling to Finnish Lapland in the autumn months should be on everyone’s bucket list. Enjoy Ruska, the finish word to describe the autumn foilage and the vibrant colours. Another good reason to visit is the frequency of the Northern lights. Autumn offers great opportunities to view lady Aurora.  We have created this short break to offer you a little of everything, glass roofed cabins, Sami culture, the northern lights, lakes, Ruska and an opportunity to enjoy fresh air and beautiful nature.  What are you waiting for?

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival at Ivalo airport. Shared transfer from the airport to the Northern lights village, located approximately 30 minutes away. On arrival check in to your aurora cabin. The aurora cabins are a magical way to experience the wintery sky and Northern lights. The laser heated glass roof opens up into the Northern sky, a perfect way to see the Northern lights whilst laying in your king size bed.
Dinner is included and overnight.

Day 2: Sami Culture

After breakfast, enjoy a six-hour excursion focusing on the Sami culture and see the magnificent Juutuanjoki river. Travel through the village of Ivalo to Inari and stop along the way to photograph the beautiful landscape on the shore of Lake Inari. After a lunch in the warm embrace of a campfire, continue to the Sámi Museum Siida. A guided tour of the museum provides you with a good idea of the history and way of life of the Sámi, the indigenous people of Lapland.
Return back to the Northern lights village, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Aurora chasing

Enjoy a Finnish breakfast buffet at the hotel and enjoy your day at leisure. Simply relax or maybe go for a hike.
Dinner is served at the village. This evening you depart on an unforgettable adventure – if you are in luck, the northern Lights awaits you in the Aurora Camp, on the shore of a picturesque lake. The Aurora Expedition is made in comfort by bus. On the way, stop at the rugged Lake Inari, which was believed to be the home of Ukko the Overgod by the ancient Laplanders. From there, continue on to the Aurora Camp on the shore of the lake. In the camp warm up in a cozy hut by the fire, enjoy a warming drink and a traditional Lapland midnight snack while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear on the horizon.Grab a reindeer hide, lie down in the snow, and enjoy an unforgettable experience under the Northern Lights. Overnight in your Aurora cabin.

Day 4: Saariselka

Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure

Enjoy a Scandinavian breakfast buffet. Check out and transfer to Ivalo airport by shuttle for your onward flight.
