Oslo – Hardangerfjord – Bergen – Flåm

Experience the Norwegian fjords on royal hiking trails, walking up close to magnificient waterfalls and panoramic views over the Hardangervidda plateau. Get close to the untouched nature of national parks and fjord landscapes.

Day 01:                              Arrival in Oslo

Arrive in Oslo (own arrangement).  Norway’s capital is the largest capital in Europe by area, but one of the smallest when it comes to inhabitants. Oslo has only 500,000 inhabitants, half of the urban area is covered with forests and there are 343 lakes within the city limits. It is beautifully situated at the end of the Oslo fjord. Your transfer bus will take you to the hotel.

Day 02:                               Oslo

After a hearty breakfast you will meet your guide, with whom you visit the city’s attractions like the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Town Hall, the Royal Castle, the Akershus Fortress, the Museums of Bygdøy and the panoramic views of the city and of the fjord from Holmenkollen – the famous ski jump area. The afternoon is at your own disposal.

Day 03:                               Into the fjords

Early in the morning one of the most beautiful routes in Norway awaits you. Passing Hønefoss, Gol and Geilo you will travel into the Norwegian mountain landscape. There the scenic road via the Hardangervidda Plateau begins. At the historic Fossli Hotel you have the possibility to pause and to enjoy the impressive waterfall Vøringsfoss. Further on the road winds through the narrow Mabø Valley down to the Hardanger fjord. Along its branches Eidfjord and Sørfjord you will drive to today’s destination, Kinsarvik.

Day 04:                               Day hike Hardangervidda

Today we recommend a hike through the Husedalen Valley. On the way from Kinsarvik to the Hardangervidda plateau you can enjoy a breathtaking view of four waterfalls and a magnificent landscape. The hike, starting at the first waterfall to the last one and back, will take you about 5-6 hours. Or how about a hike to the Folgefonna, one of the biggest galciers in Europe?

Day 05:                               Day hike Queen Sonja trail

We recommend to hike the Queen Sonja Hiking trail today. It offers a fantastic view over the Hardanger fjord, the Hardangervidda Nature Center and the Folgefonna National Park. You need approximately 6-10 hours for this hike, depending on your physical fitness (16 kilometres, altitude of 1100m).

Day 06:                               Day at leisure

This day you can use for relaxation. You can visit Bergen or take a ride with the famous Flåmsbana. If you are still full of energy we recommend a trip to Stalheim, or how about a guided kayak tour in the Hardangerfjord and a picnic? We will help you with the arrangements!

Day 07:                               Return to Oslo

After a delicious breakfast you will head back towards Oslo, arriving at the hotel in the evening for another relaxing night.

Day 08:                               Departure

Your transfer bus takes you to the Oslo airport and you will leave Norway with great memories.
