Day 03:                               Thorsmörk

You pass the waterfall Seljalandsfoss and leave the paved roads behind to venture into the highland, driving through black deserts and fording rivers. Between three glaciers and jagged mountain ridges, you will be surprised to find the lush oasis of Thorsmörk, a nature reserve cut through by roaring glacier rivers. Here there are a selection of hiking trails for you to get close to Icelandic nature. Stay overnight in the local mountain hut and experience the nightly stillness of the wild highlands up close.
