During the Autumn months, Finland bursts with colour – from the autumn ground colours to the amazing colours of the Northern lights. Treat your senses to all things beautiful!

Day 1: Arrival in Helsinki

Arrival in Helsinki. Arrival day at leisure to enjoy the capital city of Finland – a very cool welcome to Helsinki. The city of Helsinki was founded in 1550 by the Swedish king Gustav Vasa. In 1917, Finland gained its independence and Helsinki became the capital of the new Republic. Helsinki is a vibrant, cultural and modern city, highly characterized by the presence of water.
Accommodation at the Sokos Hotel Presidentti or similar.

Day 2: Helsinki

Breakfast at the hotel. Helsinki has much to see and do, and our top ten suggested list includes: – The Temppeliaukio Church (The Rock Church), Helsinki Cathedral, Esplanade Park, The Sibelius monument, Havis Amanda Fountain, Uspensky Orthodox Cathedral, Finlandia Hall, Presidential Palace (Presidentinlinna), Kiasma Art Museum and Suomenlinna Maritime Sea Fortress (outside city centre).
Accommodation at the Sokos Hotel Presidentti or similar

Day 03: Santa Express

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day, ticking off your remaining must-see sights in Helsinki. This evening you depart on an overnight train (nicknamed the Santa Express) to Rovaniemi.
Overnight onboard the train in private compartment (suitable for 2 persons) with private WC and shower.

Day 04: Rovaniemi

Arrival by train at Rovaniemi train station. Transfer to the cozy Apukka resort, transfer time is approximately 15 minutes. On arrival, check into your Aurora cabin, ‘home’ for the next three nights.
Apukka Resort is conveniently located in Lapland, North of the Arctic circle. Due to the location of Apukka resort, it is possible to see the Northern lights from mid/end August to the end of April
Dinner and overnight in the Aurora cabins.

Day 5: Aurora boat / or Wilderness walk

Breakfast is served at the resort. Today we recommend
a walk in the beautiful surrounding areas to enjoy Ruska
(a finish word to describe the autumn foilage and the vibrant colours). After dinner at the resort, get ready for a special treat. An evening excursion is included tonight – Either an aurora boat tour (weather depending) or a wilderness walk with open fire cooking. We hope that the Aurora will make an appearance tonight.
Return back to the resort and overnight

Day 6: Rovaniemi

Breakfast at the resort. Rovaniemi is home of Santa’s Claus, and the village of Santa Claus is located approximately 10 minutes away. If you wish to visit the village, we can assist you with transfers to and from Apukka Resort (extra cost). Alternatively, enjoy your day in Lapland with the comforts of Apukka.
Dinner and overnight

Day 7: Departure

Breakfast at the resort and departure transfer according to your onward arrangements.
