On this tour you will discover the winter capitals of these Norway and Sweden. This tour is ideal for the ones of you that like to combine the luxurious and cultural life of a metropolis with adventure and stunning landscape. Start in Stockholm, one of the world’s most beautiful capitals and travel from there to Sweden’s cool winter hot spot – the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. The last stop is Tromsø, the winter capital of Norway, also known as Paris of the North.

Day 01: Arrival in Stockholm

Arrival in Stockholm according to your own itinerary. Stockholm – the capital of Sweden busts of life and movement. The city is built on 14 islands all part of an archipelago. Sweden’s Capital is charming, vibrant and surrounded by beauty and water – hence its nickname, Venice of the North.  Stockholm city has an abundance of charm, history and tradition! This urban and trendy city will impress you with its interesting museums and castles. The city keeps its warm atmosphere apparent in the old town. Take time to explore the small and winding alley ways – the perfect area to find a suitable restaurant for the evening.

Day 02: Stockholm – Kiruna by overnight train

After breakfast the day is yours to continue exploring Stockholm. Our recommended top 10 includes the following: Gamla Stan – The Old Town, Vasamuseét – The Vasa Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, Kungliga Slottet – The Royal Palace, Stadshuset – The City Hall, Drottningholms Slott – The Drottningholm Palace, Östermalmshallen – The Östermalm Food Court, Millesgården – Art Museum, Moderna Museét – Museum of Modern Art and Kungsträdgården – City Park. Day 03: Arrival in Kiruna – Icehotel

Breakfast is available on the train (own cost) before your arrival in Kiruna.  Transfer from the train station to the Icehotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or join one of the many exciting winter activities, Icehotel has to offer. How about speeding across frozen lakes and through hilly landscapes by snowmobile?
Tonight you will experience an overnight in the Icehotel. The Ice rooms are especially comfortable and spacious – you will get a good night’s sleep in minus 5 degrees. You sleep in thermal sleeping bags on a special bed built of snow and ice, on reindeer skins.

Day 04: Icehotel

This morning you are awakened with a cup of hot lingon-berry juice at your bedside. Breakfast buffet with morning sauna and towels included. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Icehotel. Many activities are available for you – may it be husky sled rides, Sami experiences or Northern Lights adventures. We are happy to fill your day! Please ask us for the options!

Day 05: Kiruna – Train to Abisko

After breakfast transfer to Kiruna train station. Breakfast at the hotel before boarding the train to STF Abisko Mountain Station, at the heart of Abisko National Park. 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, visitors from all over the world come to Abisko to experience Arctic Sweden and get a chance to see the magical Northern Lights.

Day 06: Snowshoes and Exclusive Aurora Dinner

Take a good breakfast at the hotel and put your snowshoes on. You will tread lightly across snow-covered ground towards an opening glade in a birch wood forest. Suddenly mountain scenery becomes visible from a completely new perspective: A long valley framed by beautiful mountain tops, clothed in white. You will pause for a while to take in the view and after you have enjoyed a light snack and a hot beverage (a classic Swedish “fika”) you will make our way back to the station. This evening, you will enjoy the silent Abisko National Park in darkness. Your eyes will gradually get used to the completely dark skies and soon you will see more stars than ever before. Upon arrival to Aurora Sky Station a four-course dinner influenced by the Nordic cuisine is served. At the guided tour you learn about the Aurora Borealis and how to find it. After the tour, you have the possibility to continue looking out for more auroras on your own.

Day 07: Abisko to Narvik

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Narvik in Norway. The city has a double personality. On the one hand, its location is spectacular, pincered by islands to the west and mountains in every other direction, while spectacular fjords stretch north and south. At the same time, the city is still quite industrial by loading several million tonnes of ore annually from train wagons on to ships.

Day 08: Breath-taking views over Narvik

Breakfast at the hotel before taking the 1810-meter long cable car to the highest point of the station where the breath-taking views over Narvik City, the deep Ofotfjord and the surrounding mountains wait for you! Later that day you will board the bus for couple of hours towards Tromsø, the capital of the Arctic.

Day 09: Spending views of Tromsø

Breakfast at the hotel before enjoying the spectacular panoramic views of Tromsø and the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords by taking the Cable Car. Tromsø is known as the Gateway to the Arctic, and with the most Northern Lights in the world, Tromsø is where your Arctic adventure begins! The city is situated in the heart of the Northern lights zone, known as Aurora Borealis, and therefore belongs to one of the best places on earth to experience this mysterious phenomenon. If this is not exciting enough to start an adventure, Tromsø is surrounded by hundreds of islands, breathtaking blue fjords, glaciers and the majestic peaks of the 1,800m Lyngen Alps. The cable car, from where you can see Tromsø’s spectacular surroundings, is open from 10:00 to 23:00.
